A medium tree, reaching 10-25 metres in height at maturity. E. rubida has a persistent smooth white trunk spreading into white branches, with ribbons of bark around the base. With a large rounded spreading crown, it is a distinctive tree in the landscape and a popular habitat tree for Koalas. An adaptable and useful tree; windbreaks, screening, shade and erosion control are a few of its common uses. Flowers profusely in summer with a typically white to cream colour. E. rubida is tolerant of most soil types including well-drained or dry and shallow soils - although it adapts well to wetter climates and soil types. Once established it is tolerant of heavy frost and snow.
